A social media campaign, #NpowerPayOurOctoberStipend is starting to move quickly on the cyber space as beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power protest the non-payment of their stipend.
Concise News reports that today (Wednesday) makes it the 50th day since a chunk of the beneficiaries nationwide received their last monthly pay. This, according to a volunteer of the scheme who prefers not to be named. The volunteer said N-Power paid September stipend October 7th onward.
This online news medium observed that there is a feeling of disappointment among beneficiaries due to the neglect by handlers of the scheme.
The #NpowerPayOurOctoberStipend campaign which started on last week is gaining momentum on social media (Twitter most especially), we noticed.
Introduced in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari, the N-Power Programme is a graduate and non-graduate job enhancement scheme.
The objective is to enable them acquire the requisite skills, knowledge and experience for entrepreneurship and self sufficiency at the culmination of their tenure on the programme.
The N-Power beneficiaries are then provided with N30, 000 (approximately 83 US Dollars) monthly stipend and devices to aid their learning and skills development.

If our Senators can be paid bogus amount of salaries and allowances on time, why can’t N-Power beneficiaries get their 30k stipend on time?#NpowerPayOurOctoberStipend

The delay in the payment of the stipend clearly points to two things.(1)That the Govt is happy when the country is not secured (2)That theGovt is not aware that the problem of insecurity in Nigeria is as the of joblessness and poverty.#NpowerPayOurOctoberStipend

If Senators can be paid their bogus allowance and monthly salaries on time, why is it so difficult to pay graduates 30k?
Indirectly they are telling us that “We are pest” but we are openly telling them that we know our rights#NpowerPayOurOctoberStipend

Seriously this is beginning to look a lot like MMM scam but they won’t fail to pay themselves ridiculous amounts in salaries and allowances this last week in November. October and November stipends should be paid. #NpowerPayOurOctoberStipend
