N-Power: State Govt Trains N-Teach Volunteers, Others

The Delta State Government says so far, the Teachers Professional Development Programme has trained 6,504 personnel in N-Power, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Concise News reports.

According to the South-South state government, others who also benefited from the training are Post-Primary Education Board (PPEB), Technical and Vocational Education Board (TVEB), Adult and Non-Formal Education (AANFE), and Volunteer Teachers at the community level.

A tweet on Tuesday on the official Twitter account of the Delta State Government indicates that construction of a new Teachers Professional Development Centre (TPDC) in the oil-rich state is underway.

The Teachers Professional Development Programme which was established in 2016 by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration was designed to train, retrain, upgrade, and enhance teachers at all levels.

The new TPDC this online news medium understands is located at Owa-Oyibu in Ika North East Local Government Area, with upgraded facilities as well as hostel accommodation.

In order to improve capacity building in the training and retraining of teachers in the state, the Okowa administration said it established the TPDC.

Under the auspices of the TPDC, the government commenced training of 100 French teachers across the state too.
