N-Power: Presidency Reveals How It Spent Abacha Loot

The Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments Maryam Uwais has said $76,538,530 been used from the loot recovered from a former Military Head of State Gen. Sani Abacha, Concise News reports.
Concise News learned that Uwais said this on Monday at a two-day Experts’ Training and Advocacy on Tracing and Recovery of Illicit Funds and Assets organised by the Human Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to her, the money was used for the August/September 2018 and the September/October payment cycle.
This is as she noted that the money was in addition to the $27,099,028 gotten from the International Development Association/World Bank credit used in alleviating the plight of poor Nigerians.
Uwais, also, said the Federal Government, via the National Social Investment Office NSIO, had been releasing the funds to beneficiaries of the National Cash Transfer Programme (a component of the National Social Investment Programme N-SIP).
The presidential aide said the move was to positively change the lives of many Nigerians below the poverty line, according to the data collated in the communities and hosted on the National Social Register (comprising each of the State Social Registers).
All Alimosho – Lagos beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power scheme who are yet to receive their vest and cap have been told to go with their profile page to collect it.
A message disseminated by Abanikanda Isma’eel, the representative for N-Power in Alimosho Local Government Area of the State of Excellence indicates that distribution of the clothing has been extended to Friday 25th of October, 2019 at Agege. Read more
