It is the ninth day of the eleventh month and beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power scheme are yet to receive their October stipend, Concise News reports.
Handlers of the scheme have been mute while its official Twitter handle has been silent on the matter too.
The likes of Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Afolabi Imoukhuede, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Nigerian President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Ismaeel Ahmed, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Investment Programmes and Mohammed Brimah, the Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation are all not explaining anything as to why the delay is recurring.
Every month, the Nigerian government spends about N15 billion as stipends on over 500,000 volunteers of the N-Power scheme, a component of the National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIP).
These payees earn a monthly stipend of N30, 000 (approximately 83 USD).
The scheme also engages another 200,000 non-graduates in training or on attachment to organisations as interns.
Check out some reactions over unpaid October 2019 stipend below:
You keep delaying just #30,000 every month even after you’ve relegated graduates of either level 7or8 to just ordinary level 1. God is watching all your wickedness.
