N-Power October Stipend: Beneficiaries Send ‘Strong’ Message To Buhari, Others
N-Power beneficiaries have called on President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and some top government officials tasked with social development to see to the payment of their October stipend.
The likes of Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Afolabi Imoukhuede, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Ismaeel Ahmed, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Investment Programmes and Mohammed Brimah, the Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation are all not explaining anything as to why delay of beneficiaries’ stipend is recurring. An N-Power Tech software beneficiary at the southern region campus of the scheme’s component, Janny Sampson Mfon has given an insight into how the training works.
The trainee from Akwa Ibom expressed her satisfaction with the quality of training given, while also showing gratitude to the Federal Government for the “opportunity” afforded. Read more here.
N-Power: State Govt Trains N-Teach Volunteers, Others
The Delta State Government says so far, the Teachers Professional Development Programme has trained 6,504 personnel in N-Power, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
According to the South-South state government, others who also benefited from the training are Post-Primary Education Board (PPEB), Technical and Vocational Education Board (TVEB), Adult and Non-Formal Education (AANFE), and Volunteer Teachers at the community level. Read more here.
N-Power: What Afolabi Imoukhuede Said About ‘Being Empowered’ (Video)
As the Nigerian Government keep on with the N-Power scheme, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Job Creation and Youth Employment, Afolabi Imoukhuede has told beneficiaries that “when you are empowered, you must also empower others”.
Imoukhuede made this call when he visited N-Power Tech Southern campus recently in Edo state. Read more here.
Alleged Corruption In N-Power: Reps Order Investigation Into Programme
The House of Representatives has declared intent in probing the N-Power Programme, which consists of the N-Teach, N-Agro, N-Tech, N-Build and N-Creativity Programmes.
The House has directed its Committees on Sustainable Development Goals and Youth Development to immediately investigate the alleged arbitrariness in the management of the N-Teach Program in particular and report back to the House within the next three weeks.
The decision of the House follows a motion brought by Oluga Taiwo (Osun APC) with the title: “Urgent need to investigate the arbitrariness and possible corruption in the N-Power Programme of the Federal Government.” Read more here.
