Physically-Challenged Reveals Reason He Put In For N-Power (Photo/Video)
A physically-challenged beneficiary from Ondo state, James Akinyosoye has said that he decided to register for the Federal Government’s N-Power programme because he does not want to take to begging on the streets.
In a video by the Nigeria’s National Social Investment Programmes, also known as the NSIP’s media recently, Akinyosoye stated his desire to become independent.
According to him, “I’m very excited to be selected by the Federal Government as one of the beneficiaries.
“I am very grateful.
“It is one of my friends that registered for me. I went for exam in cafe and I wrote my exam. It has a lot of stress. But thank God today, I’m one of the beneficiaries.” Read more here.
N-Power: Payees Tell Scheme Handlers What To Do About October Stipend
Beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme are asking the Federal Government to pay their October stipend as the eleventh month of the year enters day seven.
Beneficiaries’ stipends are not usually paid as and when due, we observed.
As well, this online news medium noticed that federal workers usually receive their salaries between 25th and 30th of each month. But N-Power beneficiaries – classified as Federal Government workers too – do not have a consistent payday.
Every month, the Nigerian government spends about N15 billion as stipends on over 500,000 volunteers of the N-Power scheme, a component of the National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIP). Read more here.
