The Federal Government and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) are proposing to boost the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) by drafting in N-Power beneficiaries in tackling the dearth of security agents in the country, Concise News reports. To join N-Power volunteers in the community policing are the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. The corps members and N-Power cadets are to make up for the inadequacy of the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 additional hands by the police. The Chairman of the NGF and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, disclosed this in Abuja last Friday after he held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa. Fayemi stated that the issue is top of the agenda of the meeting of the Security Sub-Committee of the National Economic Council (NEC) headed by him earlier last week. Read more here.
A scheme of the President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration social investment programmes, N-Power has assured beneficiaries that they will collect their device soon, Concise News reports. This online news medium understands that all bonafide N-Power volunteers are entitled to a device each. However, some among the 2016 batch are yet to receive their device, while none among the 2017 batch have gotten. This has left beneficiaries worried, thus the constant inquiry of when they are going to get their device.
