As Plateau State gets the nod as the pilot state in the North-Central for the Federal Government’s new N-Power Junior, a Special Intervention Programme (SIP) aimed at providing ICT facilities to primary pupils across the country, Concise News provides you details of the new programme.

For the purpose of moving Nigeria to a knowledge-driven economy, 12 Model Schools are being developed under the N-Power Junior programme across the 6 geo-political zones for the “Every Child Counts” programme.

The programme is meant to develop essential skills that will enable children to be the catalyst for Nigeria’s emerging knowledge economy, thus the launching of the N-Power Junior programme for primary and secondary school children which will introduce functional, economic, and interpersonal skills around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

In collaboration with the States, “Every Child Counts” will target remodelling of 10,000 classrooms every year, training millions of teachers and bringing programming and design thinking to every primary and secondary school student.

There will be a massive teacher training project and setting up systems that enable world-class teaching standards, attract and incentivise the best talent and prioritises continuous learning.
